Overview
Bee Rise is a 2D browser-based game where the player controls a bee jumping between objects (flowers) to reach the highest possible score.
The gameplay is simple but progressively more challenging. Some flowers break after a single jump, while others remain stable. The player can also collect boosts in the form of honey, which allows the bee to temporarily fly higher.
As the player progresses, the environment changes and new obstacles appear, including enemies that can end the game. The challenge increases as fewer platforms are available and timing becomes more critical.
The game is controlled using keyboard inputs (left and right), focusing on responsiveness and smooth interaction.

Process & Role
I worked across visual design and frontend development in this collaborative group project.
Design & Animation
I shaped the game’s visual direction and designed the main character, flowers, clouds and supporting environmental assets.
I also worked with animations and implemented them into the game, ensuring smooth movement and a playful, engaging visual experience.
Game flow and UX
I contributed to designing the user flow, including:
Start menu
Gameplay screens
Pause menu
Game over state
We kept the flow short and familiar so players could understand the controls quickly and return to the game without interruption.
Frontend Development
In addition to design, I actively contributed to the frontend development using TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
I worked on implementing:
Game UI components
Animations and interactions
Visual behavior of elements
Parts of the gameplay logic
Impact
Created a cohesive visual identity for the game
Improved user engagement through animation and interaction
Built a functional and interactive browser-based game
Strengthened collaboration between design and development
The finished game brought visual design, animation and frontend logic together in one responsive experience.
